Course Short Name
The course short name is unique to every course. 

 

 

 It can be helpful to know the course short name when searching for a specific course. 

 

 

 Typically the course short name starts with the school year the course was offered, followed by the course number and the section number. 

 

 

 The course name can also be located in the breadcrumbs listing on the course site underneath the name. 

Course Name
All courses are named following a standard convention. 

 

 
 Official Course Number: This begins with a prefix indicating the course subject followed by a four-digit number. Each course has a unique number. 

 Section Number 

 Official Course Name 

 School Year 

 
 Semester  (the summer semester is semester 3) 

 

 For example, EDT0001: 01 Introduction to Online Learning (201718 2)  indicates that this is the first section of edtech course 0001, being taught in the second semester of the 2017-2018 school year.
